Hi everyone!
I am Nemanja Subic, coming from Serbia. I obtained my master’s degree in molecular biology at the Unversity of Novi Sad in Serbia and now I am part of the DRIVE network and a PhD student at the Weizmann Institute of Science. The main objective of my PhD project is to establish a TECPR2 KO mouse model for SPG49 neurodegenerative disease in order to decipher the role of TECPR2 depletion in the onset and progression of this disease. Furthermore, to establish iPSC differentiation techniques for sensory neurons and cerebral organoids derived from SPG49 patients. And finally to utilize the aforementioned SPG49 models to analyse autophagic activity and intracellular trafficking in the absence of TECPR2.
