My name is Petra Terešak, I come from the capital city of Croatia, Zagreb. Currently I am a part of Patricia Boya’s lab at the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (CIB) in Madrid. Our laboratory has the following objectives: First, evaluating the expression of autophagy genes during retinal development. Second, determining autophagy flux in retinal explants at different developmental stages. Third identifying biomarkers and adapt/develop assays to monitor autophagy in retinal ganglion cell. Fourth determining the role of autophagy during retinal development by comparing neurogenesis in wild type and autophagy-deficient mice. And finally, assessing retinal ganglion cell survival after axonal damage.
