1. How did you get into the autophagy field and why is the field important to you?

Anaxomics technology is not disease focused but our collaboration with some researchers in the field (Caty Casas) brought us in a Cost Action on autophagy and getting to know and collaborate with other researchers in the field.

2. What is a key question in the autophagy field now? Where do you think the field is heading?

 As mentioned, we are not autophagy experts, but our main aim is identifying key molecular mechanisms that distinguish pathogenic from physiological autophagy processes with the aim of identifying potential therapeutic options or biomarkers.

3. What advice do you have for early career scientists that want to enter the autophagy field?

Like in any other scientific career, curiosity; get to know different points of view, and identify the advantages and shortcomings of different approaches to be able to give the results the proper relevance.
